COURT FINES & FEES
In Davidson County, Tennessee, between 2009-2023, $323,949,339.30 has been assessed against Tennesseans for court fines and fees.
Many of these fees are unaffordable for Tennesseans and lead to immense financial hardship as well as license suspensions, extended community service, and sometimes incarceration.
OUR GOALS
Advocate for the elimination of excessive and unnecessary fines and fees in the criminal court system.
End the criminalization of poverty through court-imposed punishments for those unable to pay fines and fees.
Educate on the status of Fines and Fees in Middle Tennessee.
Provide resources to individuals affected by the imposition of fines and fees to assist them in getting fines and fees waived.
